According to Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police, early Tuesday, March 13, 2018 around 4:30 a.m., they responded to a reported verbal domestic in the 3000 block of Valley Drive, in East Goshen Township. This location is a three story, multi-family condominium located in Goshen Valley. Police officers arrived on location and met with family members who reported that a 31-year-old male was confrontational after a verbal dispute and that he threatened to shoot a family member. The male individual, who owns firearms, barricaded himself in his master bedroom and refused to communicate with the responding officer. Police evacuated most of the residents of the building, and a temporary shelter was set-up at the community’s club house. The West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team (SWAT) arrived on location, and attempts to communicate with the individual were unsuccessful. At 7:45 a.m., SWAT made entry into the bedroom and took the individual into custody without incident. The man was transported to the Chester County Hospital for evaluation, and at 8:30 a.m. residents were permitted to return home. The West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team includes members of the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, West Goshen Township Police, West Chester Police, Willistown Township Police, Uwchlan Township Police, West Whiteland Township Police, West Chester University Police and the Chester County Detectives. The Chester County District Attorney’s Office also assisted with this investigation.
