Coatesville Police announced Tuesday that 40-year-old Ryan Hartman of the 100 block of Arianna Lane in West Caln Township was arrested and charged with stalking and harassing a 20-year-old woman on eight separate incidents beginning in April 2018 until May 6 of this year. According to police, Hartman followed the victim from her place of employment in Chester County, a restaurant, and also from the Turkey Hill, located at the intersection of Route 340 and Route 82. Police say Hartman’s behavior continued during the last year, which included him following the victim to her residence on two known occasions. According to the complaint, Hartman stared into the victim’s house on one of those occasions. The victim even called her father and co-workers at different times from her vehicle so that she could be met by them when exiting her vehicle because she feared for her safety. Hartman was interviewed by detectives and denied the incidents but later admitted to authorities that he was attracted to the woman but didn’t know her name. Hartman was arraigned Tuesday afternoon and sent to Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for Monday, May 20.
