Sam Jenkins, a sophomore at Swarthmore College in Delaware County, died after sustaining injuries in a skateboarding accident. According to a report on 6 ABC, Jenkins was injured Friday afternoon on Magill Walk, an area which leads to the school’s main administration building. Details of the incident were not released. Jenkins, who was from Rhode Island, also played hockey. He was described as “creative, joyful and gentle,” with a colorful fashion sense and dreams of developing his own video game development studio. Swarthmore College President Valerie Smith said Jenkins was described by his friends as both a free spirit and quietly kind and thoughtful. The school is planning a memorial service for Jenkins, a date which has not yet been announced.
