After investigating a social media threat to West Chester East High School students, West Goshen Township police say they identified a male student at the school as the one responsible for posting those death threats. According to West Goshen Township Police, they have charged a 14-year-old black male with terroristic threats, harassment and cyber harassment of a child in connection to those threatening posts that were first reported to police late Sunday, Sept. 10. The threats, posted on the social media platform Instagram, under the account East Shade Room, were said to be of a racist nature. Police were investigating the possibility that the posts constituted a hate crime. Police say, however, that their investigation negated the hate crime aspects of the incident. Because the charged student is a juvenile, his personal information is not being released.
