According to Chester County’s Department of Emergency Services, first responders were dispatched at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday for three pedestrians that were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle. According to reports, a 23-year-old mother and her 2-year-old and 3-year-old child were walking home, and the children were in a stroller. They were all struck by a vehicle from behind. That vehicle did not stop to render aid. Fire department personnel took the mother and children from the 30 block of Bay Street in the Borough of South Coatesville to Brandywine Hospital. All were treated for minor injuries. That accident originally happened on Lower Gap Road in South Coatesville. According to South Coatesville Police Chief Kevin Pierce, that hit-and-run vehicle, a white Mitsubishi Outlander SUV, was impounded, but the driver has not yet been located.
