Kennett Square Borough Council has authorized a grant agreement for a new regional library study. The Kennett Area Region Library Task Force is in the early stages of conducting a study that will analyze the community’s needs, wants, and also vision for a new, regional library. The Kennett Library will be partnering with several local municipalities also on the study. Last week, Kennett Square Borough Council approved the Vision Partnership Grant agreement that will be used for library planning. The study is expected to get underway sometime in September and be completed by February of 2017. The study will include gathering information from local stakeholders and looking at broader library trends to determine how the library can expand its delivery of services to all local citizens. Borough council also announced that they were actively working with the library to find a location within the borough where a new library could be built.
