State Senator Andy Dinniman announced Thursday that two airports in Chester County will receive more than $1.1 million in total state grant funding for upgrades and improvements. Dinniman said in a written statement that: “these funds will help improve the safety of our local, public-use airports, while boosting our regional economy and supporting our workforce.” The Chester County projects come as part of more than $6 million in state investments allocated to 26 airports across the Commonwealth. The grants are as follows:
- $1 million for the Chester County/G.O. Carlson Airport for the construction of new hangar site development infrastructure.
- $18,750 for the Chester County/G.O. Carlson Airport to install an airport communications link between aircraft and air traffic control.
- $150,000 for Brandywine Regional Airport for the design of new hangar site infrastructure.
