Coatesville Police announced Wednesday morning that the Turkey Hill store, located at 1014 East Lincoln Highway in Coatesville, was targeted by an armed robber. That incident happened shortly before midnight Tuesday, when 33-year-old Lawrence Galloway of Middletown, Pa., entered the store displaying a firearm, demanding money from the employees. A retired police officer, whose identity is being withheld for safety purposes, observed the armed robbery and entered the store in an attempt to help employees. That individual was legally armed with a personal firearm and shot Galloway. Galloway suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the lower torso and was transported to Paoli Hospital for his injuries. He was also found to have an active criminal bench warrant for drug possession out of Harrisburg. Coatesville Police say that robbery and gun possession charges are pending against him for last night’s incident.
